Happy Friday Beer Babes!
Due to last-minute, and unforeseen, circumstances, we are changing the May Second Saturday education around a little bit!
On Saturday, May 10, 2014 instead of meeting from 12:30-3:30pm at World of Beer, we will be heading over to Good Bottle Co. (located at 125 Remount Rd) from 12:30-3:30pm to do an International Beer Bottle Share!
We are still getting enlightened on International Beers, despite the venue change, have no fear! This less-structured class will be classy, educational, and delicious. Come get your tasting on while you get your drink on, in this worldly bottle share!
Since we will be doing an International Beer Focused Bottle Share – cost is just what you want to buy to drink & (if you’re feeling friendly) share. We will have a sign-up board for people to split a bottle as they want to try it, for any who don’t really know what they want to try…..or want to try that $25 bottle but not by themselves! Great thing about bottle shares is the ability to try those otherwise-cost-restrictive beers with friends!
There is a great sub place next door to Good Bottle and you can grab any food and bring it to the shop to fuel yourselves!
Some examples of bottles of beer available at Good Bottle for purchase and tasting (International Beers only here, they have a large selection of other national and Charlotte-area beers as well on draft and in bottles!):
Storm & Averij; Matten Red Fox; St. Glinglin Houblon; Duchesse de Bourgogne; Gewurzgase; Brasserie de Franch-Montagne’s Saison’ Abbaye du Saint Bon-Chien; Mikkeller’s Spontankriek; Mikkeller’s Spontanwildstrawberry; Mikkeller’s It’s Alive; Petrus Aged Red (one of my favorites!); Petrus Oud Bruin; Theakston Old Peculier; Leipsieger Gose; J.W. Lees Harvest Ale; Emelisse Rauchbier; Well’s Banana Bread (yup, UK!); Stillwater Holland Oats; Wychwood Scarecrow; St. Feuillen Speciale; Pauwel Kwak; Nøgne Ø Tiger Tripel; Scaldis Noel; selection of other internationals, as well as a huge host of other Charlotte, North Carolina, and American breweries!
I apologize for any inconvenience on the locale change. I am looking forward to seeing you ladies out there on Saturday, however, so bring your adventurous taste buds!
Sign up via Facebook or Meetup, or just show up ready to get your tasting on! Also, since we’re changing the venue, and this place doesn’t have a separate room, feel free to bring the gents with you (along with other ladies) to have a fun afternoon of tasting in a less formal environment!
Prost, Salut, Slainté, Cheers!
Bethany
