FAQs

Hello,

Here are some generic FAQs that we get asked about a lot. More will be added as they get asked or requested. If something is not here and you want to ask it, please go to the Ask the CBBs page to post a comment and ask away! We also have a Discord Server!

***What & Who are the Beer Babes?
Check out our About The Charlotte Beer Babes page for more details, however in short – we are women & friends who love tasting craft beer, and exploring the Charlotte Craft Beer scene and supporting local!

***Who are in the Beer Babes?
Women and friends of all ages, over 21, who enjoy craft beer. Women in the group represent all ages, socio-economic, racial, political, religious, geographic, and career walks of life. We are NOT a political nor a religious group. If you’d like to Professionally Network, you are welcome to do so as you see appropriate, however that is not the goal of this group. Friendship and camaraderie over craft beers is the goal!

***Is there any fee to join?
No, there is no fee to join the Charlotte Beer Babes, nor do you need to officially sign up for anything to be a member. Most follow us on Facebook or another social media platform as their way of ‘being a part’ of the group.

***What do events cost?
Each event is either a fixed cost (like the Beer Ed flight classes, or the Beer Babes Brunch event) or a pay-for-what-you-order cost (like the Brewery Visits). The one-off classes will likely be a mixture of set cost and pay-as-you-order, depending upon the event. The fundraising events will be a combination of set price and donate-what-you-want, again depending on the event. All events will clearly state (on all forms of the event) what any known costs will be.

***Do you sell merchandise?
After years of trying to get this started, we did our first merchandise sale in August-September, 2022. This was a Custom Ink Fundraiser, for our logo reveal & belated anniversary party, and will likely be repeated every so often. Various styles of shirts will be included in these merch fundraiser sales. There will be occasion to do swag orders – mousepads, cooler bags, magnets, bottle openers, etc. – as well, likely once every year or two, if people are interested.

***What is the difference between CBBs and the Charlotte Beer Girls (CBG)?
The Charlotte Beer Girls (typically seen at beer festivals) are women who dress up in dirndls and/or Irish outfits to help raise money for local charities via promotions. The Charlotte Beer Babes™ are not about promotions, but rather about sampling, education about, and just plain enjoying craft beer with other women. CBG are great ladies, and do a wonderful job helping to raise money at events for charity, but are a different group from the CBBs. Although we actually share many members.

***How many events do you do, and are you open to new things?
In 2013 we had roughly 17 events. For 2014-2019 we had 42-50 events annually. For 2020-2021, due to the global COVID pandemic, we had roughly 10 events total, most of which were virtual. We returned to our regular programming in May 2022, and since then we tend to hit around 18-22 events per year! We are definitely open to new things, however all of those need to be coordinated through Bethany, to ensure all the t’s are crossed and i’s are dotted in keeping with the Charlotte Beer Babes vision, mission and scope.

***May we suggest the Charlotte Beer Babes for events or commitments of any sort?
While I (Bethany) am open to discussion on just about everything, my only request is that I would prefer no promises be made on behalf of the group without my knowledge & approval. Not everything I have in the works will be known in the group before it’s announced, so I don’t want us to step on any toes or cross-over any events on accident. Instead, please suggest they message me via Facebook or email for further discussion. I also have business cards I can give you to pass along. Thanks for understanding!

***Where can I leave feedback, comments or review?
We have a Feedback page just for you for this purpose! Comment away! (Just please, no profanity!) In addition, there will be ample opportunity for everyone to use the Facebook Group Forum here.

More FAQs to be added as people ask, or I think of past questions!
