Hello Charlotte Beer Babes!

Here is the month of May at a glance for us! Please let me know if you have any questions or comments about any of these events!

May 1 – Fundraiser for Greater Charlotte SPCA at Unknown Brewing from 6:30pm – 10:00pm (this was a few nights ago – and we raised enough money that TWO of the newer rescue dogs will be getting full Heartworm Treatments!). If you’d still like to donate to this great cause, a 501(c)(3) charity, please go here, then enter “Charlotte Beer Babes Fundraiser” in the special instructions for your donation! Thank you to all who helped fundraise and any who continue to do so!

May 10 – Second Saturday Monthly Education & Tasting – International Beers will be our May focus! For $10, come out from 12:30pm – 3:30pm to taste a selection of beers from across the various ponds!

May 14 – Brewing With Babes 101 – Lisa (a Carolina BrewMaster) will be teaching us about Homebrewing at Carolina Beer Temple from 6:30pm – 9:00pm on this Wednesday night! Class is free, pay only for what you drink! Please note: this is a great time to sign up for teams of 2-4 for our actual Brewing With Babes BrewDay on June 1!

May 18 – Cicerone Tasting Class – Ben, a local certified Cicerone, is going to take us on a tour of HOW to truly taste a beer like a pro at Salud Noda! This $15 class will cover the cost of a selection of beers, and will be from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. Please note: class is going to be held BEFORE Salud opens for the day, so please arrive around 11:45am so we can get settled and start promptly at 12pm and get a full hour of tutorial & tastings!

May TBD – Field Trip to Alternative Beverage (Southend) for our Brewing With Babes Homebrew Teams to pick up our supplies! Details to come depending upon who wants to actually brew and everyone’s availability! Average cost per peson for a team of 2 will likely be around $35-40 for everything! If you want to brew a Double IPA, of course, that will raise the cost – so if you want higher gravity but lower cost, I recommend doing a team of 4 (each of you will get 12 beers to take home at the end) to split equipment and brew kits!

May 27 – Last Tuesday Monthly Brewery Visit at Triple C Brewing, from 6:30pm – 9:00pm. There will be a raffle, and plenty of good times to be had! As always, only pay for what you order!

**June 1 – keep in mind for this Sunday that we will be doing our Brewing With Babes (actual brewing) at Noda Brewing from 12pm – 5pm! Teams of 2-4 will be led by Carolina BrewMaster Volunteer Babes! *This event will be a culmination of the prior 2 events (Homebrewing 101 and Field Trip, above) and will cost only what you’ve spent on the supplies, plus any beers or food you purchase on-site at Noda Brewing day of the event.

Sign-ups for all events are via Meetup and Facebook sites’ events.
