Hey Beer Babes and Friends!

We are going to have a really busy March, and I am super stoked for it!

Thanks to everyone who has come out for our 2016 events thus far, especially our Raleigh Bus Trip last weekend, and I cannot wait until we get into all of the fun of March next week!

First off, we have partnered in the planning of some beer events with the UNC-Charlotte Atkins Library staff, one of whom is a Charlotte Beer Babe! Pam has worked hard with a team at the school to get 3 events (one already happened) to go in conjunction with the traveling exhibit From DNA To Beer. The exhibit is going through the campus until March 20th.

The Kombucha Talks event was Thursday, February 25, with Lenny Boy Brewing owner Townes Mowzer giving the talk. The Homebrew 101 event (Facebook or Meetup) is Wednesday, March 2, with House of Brews owner Heather Lewis giving the tutorial. Finally, the Legion Brewing Visit event (Facebook or Meetup) is the final outside event, where on March 9, everyone will be traveling to Legion Brewing for a tasting & tour event at the brewery!

Next up, we have a busy ladies-only weekend March 12-13 with three events! We are partnering up with a bunch of lady brew reps for a ridiculous amazing day on Saturday, March 12! We are starting off at The Liberty for the 2016 Beer Babes Brunch (Facebook or Meetup) with beer cocktails from 3 breweries paired with a 3-course meal for $35. After that, starting from The Liberty, we’ll be joining more lady brew reps for the Lumber Ladies Bar Crawl 2.0 (Facebook or Meetup)! This will be traversing from The Liberty over to CRAFT Tasting Room, Brass Tap Charlotte, and finally Helles & Dunkel!

Then on Sunday, March 13th, we will be having our Second SUNDAY Beer Education on International Beers at The Beer Growler-Charlotte (Facebook or Meetup)! We normally do this class on Saturdays for $12 for 5 samples of beer, but because International beers are a specialty, we will be doing $15 for 5 samples of beer. I am trying to do once a quarter on Sundays, since some of yall can’t do Saturdays, so this is our first quarter Sunday!

As if all of this isn’t enough, we’ll be doing another partnered event on Sunday, March 20, with (and at) The Unknown Brewing Company: Craft Chicks Hustle Harder 2 (Facebook or Meetup). This event was done in 2014 and we finally got our stars aligned to repeat it! We will have the event open to everyone, it will cost $10 at the door (gets you 1 pint plus entry), and there will basically be a mini-expo of Women In Crafts. From homebrewers to artisans to cheese makers to premier hair stylists to arts & crafters – we will have a lot of lady entrepreneurs represented across a variety of fields! Radio Lola will be providing the female-fronted tunes, and we will also have Two Chicks and A Truck providing for-purchase food! Lots of free samples and for-purchase items to be had, and this IS open to everyone to attend! BONUS: part of the proceeds will be going to Safe Alliance!

Our last event of the month is actually a Facebook only event, merely because it’s not one that I actually am running. Every year, we do a push to help out JDRF with guest bartending. For the third year in a row, I will be a Charity Guest Bartender at Grapevine Wine Shop – Riverwalk (new location!) to help raise money (all the tips!) for this great charity! Now, normally, we would do a Last Tuesday Brewery Visit, but since we were going to do Legion Brewing, I am hoping to see everyone out there on Wed 3/9 for the Legion Brewing Visit (Facebook or Meetup) with UNC-Charlotte! Rumor has it, if we get a large enough crowd, they’re going to give us a discount! So let’s show up and have a blast ladies! This visit is also open to everyone, not just the ladies! 😉 Come on out with us gents!
